Story Behind: “Eclectic” and The New Vocalist

How did you decided to join Breaking Ice in Britain?

Amy: They find me on twitter, we had a special meeting about the album project. I’m interested. It was a sudden process. I learned the songs and lyrics then joined the recording sessions within a month. It was fun and challenging since I was not in a band for a long time. Anyway, I will give 100% for the band.

How do you manage your band?

Haikal: Well, every single member of the band has a job, we are workers. Being “active” in social media by sharing music is one way to deliver our idea besides performing at gigs. Rehearsals, recording sessions, interviews, are our “weekend project”. And performing live on stage is “the main project” every single year.

About the Eclectic EP?

Ardhie: Basically this album is a compilation of many human feelings; happy, sad, angry, desperate, anything. We try to give this kind of athmosphere through this debut album. I write and arranged most of all songs in this album and I hope people like it.

New vs Former singer

Ardhie: Swerys is our former singer. She joined a band and recorded the first single of ours entitled “What Can Kill Me Makes Me Stronger”. In general, Amy and Swerys have good voice and characters. You can listen to the two versions of this song and find the differences. Both of them are talented. The important is how they fit our music; and they did a great job.
